Creatine is one of the most studied sports supplements of all time, yet there's still a lot of confusion about this powerful white powder. (The legal one!)
I want to change that.
It's a simple white powder, proven to have some powerful health benefits.
There's a lot of new and established research around creatine, and I wanted to make sure you were up to date and "in the know", so I invited expert Dr. Scott Forbes onto the podcast to answer some important questions and simplify creatine biology making it accessible to all listeners.
Dr. Forbes is an associate professor in the department of Physical Education Studies at Brandon University and an adjunct professor in the faculty of Kinesiology and Health Studies at the University of Regina. He's a certified sport nutritionist (ISSN) and a clinical exercise physiologist and high performance specialist through the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP).
During this podcast we dug into a lot of interesting areas, including the break down of what creatine is, how we make it, how our bodies use it and how it can provide energy.
Here's what you will learn about when you tune in and listen today!
Dosing strategies (There are 3!)
Creatine for vegans and vegetarians
Creatine in your plant based burger? What!?
How long creatine stays in your muscles
Creatine and bone health NEW!
Can creatine help ultra endurance athletes preserve explosiveness?
Can creatine improve carbohydrate storage?
Creatine and dehydration - myth busting
Creatine use during pregnancy
Creatine responders (what makes the effect larger for some people vs others?)
I've been taking creatine almost every day since 2018, and I'll take it for life. The data backing it's health benefits is incredible and continues to mount and expand to include the brain, bones and the future will see what else?
I love this conversation and hope you do too.
